The Sociedad del Canal del Maipo (SCM), one of the country's main and oldest Canal User Associations, has an extensive network of canals that crosses the entire city of Santiago, from its intake from the Maipo River in Puente Alto, to supply water to distant municipalities such as Colina and Pudahuel, making it one of the largest distribution networks in the country.
Within its distribution network, SCM had parallel-running channels, making it feasible to install a system with two sensors in order to minimize the implementation costs of telemetry for both channels.
